Curiosity Diagnostics comprises the necessary blend of scientific expertise and experience in industry to successfully conduct the prototyping process from the very scientific discovery, through the research, development and prototyping to production.
We are now working with multiple laboratories and companies across Europe to deliver the first systems to the market.
Marcin Izydorzak obtained M.Sc. in Chemistry from the College of Science PAS and completed postgraduate pharmaceutical studies at Gdańsk Medical University. Between 1994 and 2009 he worked for the second largest Polish pharmaceutical company Adamed sp. z o.o. From the very beginning Mr Izydorzak organized the Research and Development Department at Adamed holding a variety of management positions, including the Head of Project Management Department. The Department headed by Mr Izydorzak has successfully developed a number of block buster products. Co-founder of Scope Fluids and Curiosity Diagnostics. Since 2011 he is actively engaged in research project and strategic planing at both companies.

Prof. Piotr Garstecki
Currently the Principal Investigator in the Research Group of Microfluidics and Complex Fluids at the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS. He obtained his M.Sc. in physics in 1998 from the College of Science PAS and Ph.D. in chemistry in 2002 from the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS. Between 2002 and 2005 he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the group of Prof. George Whitesides at Harvard University. He was appointed the tile of professor in 2014. Co-founder of Scope Fluids and Curiosity Diagnostics. Since 2011 he is actively engaged in research project and strategic planing at both companies.

July 22nd 2013 Curiosity Diagnostics signed an agreement with the National Center for Research and Development for co-financing of an research and development project within the Eureka Initiative.
In July 2013 and in May 2014 Curiosity Diagnostics signed agreements with the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development in total six agreements within the 5.4.1 initiative "Support for protection of intellectual property" within the Innovative Economy Operational Program. The projects are co-funded within the European Fund for Regional Development.
On November 26 2013 Curiosity Diagnostics signed an agreement with the National Center for Research and Developments for a project within a pilot program Go.Global.PL - Support for innovative companies seeking commercialization of the results of their research and development projects on global markets.
On June 21st 2017 Curiosity Diagnostics signed an agreement with The National Centre for Research and Development for the project “An innovative system for ultrafast Point-of-Care molecular diagnostics of hospital-acquired infections”. The project is realized within the Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014-2020.
The aim of the project is to develop a rapid point-of-care system for molecular (PCR) diagnostics of the Staphylococcus aureus and Clostridium difficile. Develop product will be superior to existing solutions not only in terms of total turnaround time but in number of genes detected in single run also. The research and development activities conducted within the project will provide particular components of such system – an automated analyzer, a microfluidic chip where the main part of an assay takes place as well as biochemical methods. An industrialization and clinical research are also within a scope of the project.
Total value of the project is 8 274 475,46 zł and a public subsidy is 5 620 431,67 zł.
